Lincoln Park drivers can reach Detroit Tire Shop at 13054 Grand River Ave, 9.1 miles from the area. After new tires go on, a car that drifts to one side or wears an edge early needs its alignment checked, so ask whether that service is available when you book.
New tires fix a flat or worn set, but they do not fix whatever wore the old ones. If the outer edge of a tire was bald while the middle still had tread, the car's alignment or suspension is the likely cause, and fresh rubber will go the same way.
Lincoln Park sits 9.1 miles from the shop, so this is worth raising on the phone before the drive.
How do I know the alignment is off?
Look for the car pulling to one side on a flat road, a steering wheel that sits off-center while you drive straight, or tread worn smooth along one shoulder. Any of these points to alignment. Vibration at speed is more often a balance issue.
Does Lincoln Park have other covered areas around it?
Ecorse is 1.7 miles from Lincoln Park and Allen Park is 1.8 miles. Both are among the shop's 14 service areas.
What should I ask when booking new tires?
Ask whether the quote includes mounting and balancing, and whether an alignment check is offered with it. Tell them what the old tires looked like, edge wear especially, so the right question gets asked of the right part of the car.
- Is balancing in the quoted price?
- Can alignment be checked on the same visit?
- Does the quote cover disposal of the old tires?
- What does the shop recommend if only one tire is bad?
